Benefits of Using an Online Bank
Die-hards may not like the idea of banking with an online bank. They want to be able to go into a bricks and mortar building and actually see the bank staff at work. It gives them a feeling of security to see that building remains standing there over time. But an online bank is just as secure a place to put your money as one made of bricks and mortar. After all, building materials can be destroyed in a flood, fire or earthquake, but an online bank does not have to worry about such things. An online bank does have a material presence somewhere. There must be headquarters, but it just does not have branches in every town - or in major cities. Transactions are - naturally - done online. There is less staff and less cost of buildings, therefore the online bank can offer its customers a better deal on interest rates because it does not have such high overheads as the normal bricks and mortar banks do. When you bank with an online bank, you can use your computer and so access banking facilities any time of the day or night. But don't confuse a bricks and mortar bank that offers online facilities with an online bank. An online bank has no building to go into. You would only miss this if you had a jar of coins you wanted to deposit. Using an online bank for your banking means that you can pay and receive bills more quickly and keep track of your finances more easily - all for less cost.
